Battleship – Blame
it on ET & UFO again…!
Director: Peter Berg
Producer: Peter
Berg, Brian Goldner, Duncan Henderson, Bennett Schneir, Scott Stuber.
Duration: 1hour
& 31 minutes
“Admiral Shane: Prepare to fire.
Crew member: Sir, which weapons?
Admiral Shane: All of them.”
After a successful “Hancock” Peter berg fired all his
weapons with Battleship, best visual effects, good actors, kick ass dialogues,
till here everything is fine with the movie. When it comes the story and battleship sinks
beyond a doubt.
A story line which is like “been there and done that” just doesn’t
leave the audience with a sense of astonishment. Inspired from Hasbro's classic
game, battleship is just like another movie where in a bunch of people
trying to save this world from the extraterrestrial species who
are trying to take planet earth in to control. Needless to talk about the
ending as we all know, itz the hero who always wins.
Leaving the story line, battleship should be credited for
its superb visual effects and magnanimity. Adding to it Peter Berg does what he
does best, tickling the audience funny bone with some kick ass dialogues. Dialogues like:
'We trust in god but,
others we track''.........
Alex Hopper: you
gonna die, I'm gonna die, we all gonna die. just not today
leaves you with a smile. Coming to individual performances
Taylor Kitsch has done well amongst the other lot with his hot looks and sleek dialogue
delivery. The most waited debutant of
the year the umbrella girl Rihanna was able to pull it off much to her comfort.
Should mention that Peter berg has wasted good actors like Liam Neeson & Alexander
Skarsgard by giving them a limited role and screen space.
Last but not the least, the one aspect of the movie which I
liked the most and is very hard to find in American movies, the camaraderie and
respect shown between Chinese & American Naval officers.
All in all battleship is a onetime watch which leaves you
with some astounding visuals, loud background score and hilarious dialogues. Story as you know …….no comments please.
