The Last Stand – Arnold Standing Tall !!!

Star Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnny, Forest Whitaker, Rodrigo Santoro, Luis Guzman, Jaimie Alexander, Edurado Noriega.
Director: Kim Ji-Woon
Producer: Lorenzo Di Bonaventura
Duration: 107 Minutes
The plot of The Last Stand revolves around Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) former LAPD and now a Sheriff in a small town of Sommerton Junction, which is one of the borders states to Mexico.
Ray Owens and his team, Deputy Mike Figuerola (Luis Guzman), Lewis Dinkum (Johnny), Deputy Jerry Bailey (Zach) and Deputy Sarah Torrance (Jaimie Alexander) gets into action when they come to know that a bunch of people are trying to build a bridge connecting the Sommerton Junction & Mexico.
Cut to plot shifts to Las Vegas where in the FBI are shifting the international drug lord Gabriel Cortez (Edurado Noriega) who sleekly escapes and speeds off in a modified Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1, taking Agent Ellen Richards (Génesis Rodríguez) as his hostage.
FBI under the Agent John Bannister (Forest Whitaker), does several attempts to bring down Gabriel Cortez which goes in vain. Story unfolds when FBI & Ray Owens discovers that bridge connecting the Sommerton Junction & Mexico is nothing but the escape route for Gabriel Cortez.
It all comes down to Ray Owens and his team who have to prevent this happening. Can they do it is something which one has to see it in the theater.
Coming to the merits of the movie I cannot say it is one of the greatest movies made but definitely it is not bad either. It is that kind of movie where in you feel content leaving the theater. You get to see Arnold in a much more sublime way which is contrary to his previous flicks. But Kim Ji-Woon made sure that Arnold Fans get what they expect i.e some hardcore rugged action and his best one liners.
The last sequence on cars, the fight over the bridge and dialogues like 1. “I have seen enough blood in my life” 2. “My honor is not for sale” and his trade mark one 3. “The sheriff is back” just stands out.
Lastly, I would to like say that The Last Stand is something which you can stand on and would not regret it.

Race 2 – Sleek and Stylish No Brainer…!

Star Cast: Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Amisha Patel
Director: Abbas-Masthan
Producer: Ramesh Taurani, Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
Duration: 146 Minutes
Armaan Mallik (John Abraham) an ex-street fighter and now the leading underworld business tycoon is based in Istandbul with his half-sister Elena (Deepika Padukone). Cool casinos, sleek cars, lavish yachts, sexy women and of course crime defines the life of Armaan Mallik.
Our very old Ranveer Singh (Saif Ali khan) is back, this time with a vengeance on Armaan for killing his wife Sonia (Bipasha Basu). Ranveer designs a full proof plan to out beat Armaan and ropes in his old friend R.D a.k.a Robert D'Costa and his nutty assistant Cherry (Amisha Patel) for the help.
Ranveer’s plan takes many twists and turns as the people whom he has trusted  Omisha/Tanya Martin (Jacqueline Fernandez) betrayed him for money. The plot becomes interesting when Elena falls in love for Ranveer.
Can Ranveer out beat Armaan is the crux of the story.
Coming to the story line Race -2 is completely a no brainer do not try to find any logic out it, just take the movie at its face value you will enjoy it. Abbas-Masthan put in their best efforts to spin the plot with twists & turns which makes this movie watchable. Adding to it, some super cool locations, sleek & stylish performances well crafted songs just makes the movie better.
Coming to individual performances, to be honest except for Saif Ali Khan none of the actors had any scope to perform, as the directors wanted more of brawns than performances.  Beefed up John Abraham and super sexy Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Amisha Patel are a treat to watch. Anil Kapoor brings in the fun element to the movie with his good comic timing and of course some double meaning dialogues.
Coming to the draw backs of the movie the first and foremost is its length, had the movie been shorter it would have been much better. Editing was poorly done, in many shots one can see Saif’s body double and even Kareena’s tattoo on Saif’s hand (LOL).
All in all Race 2 is a non brainy entertainer, leave your brain for rest you would enjoy it.
