ABCD-Any Body Can Dance – A Dancing Ride !

Star Cast: Prabhu Deva, Kay Kay Menon, Ganesh Acharya.
Director: Remo D’Souza
Producer: Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Duration: 160 Minutes
ABCD-Any Body Can Dance like stated by the choreographer turned director Remo D’Souza is first 3D Indian Dance film, an effort which should be truly appreciated. Making a movie on the subject of dance is a welcoming change for the Indian cinema and its viewers.
Vishnu (Prabhudeva) an ace dance teacher works for JDC Dance Company owned by Jehangir Khan (Kay Kay Menon). Vishnu gave 15 years to this company bringing it up from shackles and making it win twice, the most prestigious Indian dance completion show “Dance Dil se”.
Tricked by Jehangir Khan with his faulty ways Vishnu is forced to quit the company which he has brought to the place where it is now. Dejected Vishnu with no home & food reaches out to his old friend Gopi (Ganesh Acharya) who lives in a down town of Mumbai.
Vishnu impressed with the local down town boys for their passion towards dance decides to teach them and make them ready for “Dance Dil se” against Jehangir Khan’s troop.
How does Vishnu and his team against all odds wins the Dance Dil Se show is the plot.
Coming to other aspects, in spite the movie being first of its kind, having all the heavy weights of dance, ABCD is weaker in its script. It is like you are watching a mix and match of various movies put together in one frame with a very predictable story line. It’s almost like you can guess what would happen in next scene. But thanks to the choreographer for designing some fabulous dance sequences that keeps the audience engaging, especially the rain sequence dance is worth watching in 3D.
Credits to all the new comers who gave more than 100% be it the action or dance. Ganesh Acharya is wasted for a role that we barely laugh. Prabhu Deva tried to give in his best, rather than action I would rate him best for his performance of Mukkala mukabala the new version. Personally would have loved had there been a dubbing for Prabhudeva, as the dialogues would have been more effective.
To sum it up ABCD-Any Body Can Dance may not be a path breaking movie but give it a try for the efforts put in.
