Movie Review : MIB 3 – IT’S ALL IN THE PAST NOW..!

Cast: Tommy Lee Jones, Will Smith, Josh Brolin, Jemaine Clement, Michael Stuhlbarg & Emma Thompson
Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
Producer: Walter.F.Parkes & Laurie MacDonald
Duration: 106 Minutes
Barry Sonnenfeld got his “Men in Black” back, all over again for the third time after 10 long years of waiting. This time “Boys in Black” are more stylish, sleek and have retained their funny bone.
Tommy Lee Jones as Agent-K & Will Smith as Agent-J are set to travel back into past and do what they do best – protecting planet from ugly looking aliens.
The movie begins as “Boris the Animal” played by Jemaine Clement escapes from Lunar Max Prison with the help of his girlfriend played by Nicole (Pussycat Doll). Boris is all set to travel back to complete the unfinished business i.e to stop the ArcNet shield being installed around the earth and also to take his revenge on Agent-K for what he has done to him.
Agent-J & Agent-O played by Emma Thompson, the new chief of MIB department realizes that Boris has killed Agent-K and deactivated ArcNet by traveling back into time, as all the traces of Agent-K have been removed from the present world.
Now, its time for Agent-J to travel back in to time complete the business of restoring the ArcNet, saving the life of Agent-K and obviously killing Boris.
As, the Agent-J goes to back to 1969 where it all started, he meets younger Agent-K played by Josh Brolin, with whom he teams up and with help of Griffin who has an eye to predict the future played by Michael Stuhlbarg how they stop Boris is the plot of the story.
For me personally the way director narrated & shot the last 15 minutes of the movie at the backdrop of launch of Apollo 11 is the highlight of the movie. Do not miss it as you might get lucky with Agent-K’s past.
Two thumps up for the special effects and cinematography by Bill Pope, they truly take the movie to a new level. Poor editing & some cold performance by Tommy Lee Jones have been my personnel let down. Performances from Will Smith & Michael Stuhlbarg truly stands out.
Overall MIB-3 may not be a great movie but definitely it’s worth watching.
My Rating : 3/5
